Black Heritage Month Celebration

Please join us for a tribute to African-American heritage with stories of the Pea Island surfmen by “Keeper James,” an Outer Banks historian. The surfmen were a crew of African-American heros who fought storms and saved lives off the coast of the Outer Banks in the late 1800s. Also enjoy American contemporary and African-American spirituals by the Elizabeth City State University Concert Choir under the direction of Dr. Walter R. Swan.

The event begins at 3:00pm. Refreshments will be served. Call 449-4535 for more information.
