Agnieszka Swithers named Outer Banks Hospital Employee of the Month for June, 2019

Agnieszka “Aggie” Swithers, CNA 1 on the Medical/Surgical Unit, is The Outer Banks Hospital’s June, 2019 Employee of the Month. She joined the Outer Banks Hospital in January, 2016 with the Environmental Services Team and completed her Nursing Assistant training in June, 2017. She then earned a position in the Emergency Department as a CNA, and transferred to the Medical/Surgical unit in February, 2019.

Patients appreciate Swithers’ excellent bedside manner and compassion. She is endlessly patient, kind and has received numerous acknowledgements from patients for her care. It is obvious to anyone around her how much her work means to her.

Swithers has an exceptionally positive attitude that radiates to others and helps bring teams together during high volume times. She is energetic and always willing to jump in where needed. She goes out of her way to assist other units and support services teams whenever she sees the need. Swithers is an amazing example of our core values and shows her dedication to her work and patients every day.

Reacting to the news that she was chosen as the Employee of the Month, Swithers stated, "Having the ability to ease a person's pain, help them through a difficult recovery or just put a smile on their face makes a busy day worth every bit of sweat. I love being a part of the best health care team on the Outer Banks and plan to continue my education and advance my certifications.” She continued, “Thank you to my co-workers and my patients who make me feel needed and helpful. It is because of you that I know I make a difference.”
