For the second year in a row, The Outer Banks Hospital has been recognized by the VHA; this year, for reducing preventable readmissions due to heart failure. In fact, The Outer Banks Hospital did not have any readmissions as a result of heart failure during the time period surveyed. Ray Gillis noted that the award is a clear demonstration of the high level of teamwork among the hospital staff and strong support from leadership that drives high quality care. “This community is fortunate to have the quality of healthcare that is provided by The Outer Banks Hospital,” concluded Gillis.
