Zach Frace, R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT), CT Technician for Radiology, is The Outer Banks Hospital’s June, 2018 Employee of the Month. Frace joined TOBH in October, 2016 after moving from Slatington, PA.

Frace is a team player in Radiology and often adjusts his schedule to support changes in departmental coverage. He can be counted on to jump in where needed at any time, whether taking extra call or covering an open shift.

Patients, especially children, benefit from his ability to assess a situation and provide the best course of care with the least amount of discomfort and exposure. He goes out of his way to ensure set up, completion of tests, and follow-up go smoothly for the patient and all staff involved.

Frace has also taken on special projects and assignments. For example, he is the Central Supplies Coordinator, the Environment of Safety Specialist for Radiology, and assists with Outer Banks Medical Group clinics when needed.

Upon reflecting on the honor, Frace stated, “I have come here every year since I was just a few months old from Pennsylvania and I am glad to now call this place my home. Being part of this hospital system has been a rewarding experience and being awarded employee of the month shows that people do notice hard work.” He continued, “That is something that can often go unrecognized in bigger hospitals and that is why the Outer Banks Hospital is great; it is a very tight-knit community. Thank you all who voted for me, I am extremely honored and appreciative of my co-workers.”
