The Lilly Oncology on Canvas International Art Competition and Exhibition is making a special stop during its tour this fall – The Outer Banks Hospital’s Cancer Resource Center.

The art competition and exhibition presented by Eli Lilly and Company in partnership with the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship features the poignant artwork of cancer patients, oncologists, nurses, family members and caregivers. Several of the winning entries will be on exhibit in the Cancer Resource Center in Nags Head.

“We are exceptionally pleased we were invited to host this show,” said Betse Kelly, Cancer Resource Center Coordinator. Only two other northeast North Carolina healthcare providers were selected for the exhibition. More than 25 pieces from the collection and their corresponding narratives will on display at the Cancer Resource Center, September 19 – 25. This weeklong celebration captures cancer awareness and survivorship on canvas. Experience the cancer journey through the eyes of those personally affected by viewing their artwork and narratives.

The Cancer Resource Center, located on the second floor of the Medical Office Building next to the hospital, is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For more information about the exhibit or the services and program of the Cancer Resource Center, please contact Betse Kelly, Cancer Resource Center Coordinator, at 449-7350.
