Janie Walters, Human Resources Technician at The Outer Banks Hospital, is The Outer Banks Hospital’s October, 2018 Employee of the Month. Walters has worked at the hospital since May of 2017. Previously, Walters worked in all aspects of customer service in Northern Virginia, Massachusetts and finally the Outer Banks.
Since joining TOBH, Walters has improved the orientation experience for new team members, taken on the coordination of multiple events, and has added a special touch that makes everything neat, organized and pretty. She has developed relationships with employees throughout the hospital, as well as the practices. She is always ready to provide support and assistance to anyone in need.
Walters has a bright, exuberant personality to match her colorful attire, and always tops it off with a smile. She is quick to respond, thorough and positive; always willing to do whatever is needed. She volunteers for special projects, stays late and comes in early to help. Walters goes above and beyond consistently to meet the needs of employees and visitors.
Upon receiving the news that she was chosen as the Employee of the Month, Walters exclaimed, “It was a special surprise and very much an honor to be selected as October’s employee of the month.” She continued, “The Outer Banks Hospital is a special place to work and we are so lucky to have such a great facility here in Dare County with some pretty amazing staff.”
