“We were evaluated and measured against the same standards as other nationally renowned hospitals,” said Van Smith, hospital president. Upon completion of the two-day event, the surveyor had zero recommendation for improvement (RFIs). “Having no RFIs is a tremendous accomplishment,” said Smith, “and a reflection of the high level of care we provide at The Outer Banks Hospital.”
The Joint Commission made an unannounced, on-site evaluation of The Outer Banks Hospital on February 6th and 7th. The accreditation award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to complying with the Joint Commission’s state-of-the-art standards 24/7, 365 days a year.
“This excellent report reflects the highest degree of professionalism at The Outer Banks Hospital,” said Bob Middlebrooks, Chairman of the hospital’s Board of Directors. “The staff is to be commended for their dedication to patient care.”
