NAGS HEAD, N.C. — Outfitted in a tuxedo T-shirt, Grey born on January 1, 2011 at 2:48 am, weighed 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 20 inches long. As the old year passed and the New Year began, the hospital was a flutter with several deliveries. “I was kind of hoping we would have the New Year’s baby,” said Nicole who works as a nurse in the ER at Albemarle Hospital. Brother and sister T.J and Gwen were ready to welcome Grey home.
The Outer Banks Hospital averages 400 newborn deliveries per year. The Labor and Delivery Department at the hospital has two Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum rooms, one Level-1 nursery bed and a five-bed nursery.
