A cancer diagnosis always hits too close to home. So let’s treat it right here at home. It’s true — you don’t have to leave the Outer Banks community to receive state-of-the-art treatment and support.

From screening to diagnosis to treatment therapies, the cancer care team at The Outer Banks Hospital is here for you. We are part of an elite group of hospitals receiving a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) and we’re the ONLY critical access hospital in the nation to have a breast care program accredited by the NAPBC of the American College of Surgeons. Accreditation is given only to those facilities that are committed to providing the highest level of quality cancer care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.

With progressive facilities that include The Outer Banks Hospital oncology/hematology department, a cancer resource center, a Radiation Therapy Center and chemotherapy infusion suite, we offer advanced therapies, nurse navigator services, symptom management, support groups and much more. Whether you chose to have your services here locally or elsewhere, let our dedicated, expert team help you and your loved ones navigate your choices and the care you need — according to your wishes and your doctor’s guidance.

The Outer Banks Hospital Oncology/Hematology department is located on the 2nd floor of the Medical Office Building. Their phone number is 252-449-7272.

Because we offer unsurpassed care close to home. A Commission on Cancer Accredited Program, we’re also recognized as a Quality Program of the American College of Surgeons. This year, The Outer Banks Hospital Breast Care Program was accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
